I had a career in film. I retired. I became a performers’ rights advocate and activist. I even made a documentary, but things got weird. Really weird. I disappeared for 13 years. Not sure what I’m doing with this site, yet, but I miss writing and sharing my experiences.
Disappearing for so long and feeling like I have strong opinions is interesting. I don’t know enough about the industry to advocate for or against it, but I can tell you that during my career there were barriers in place to keep underage people from watching it. Today there are none, and haven’t been any for over a decade. Almost two, I think. If I’m remembering correctly, that one company started uploading everyone’s content for free around 2008. It’s a dangerous experiment on developing brains.
That’s it, for now. I’m choosing the avatar you see in my bio because I shot a red carpet for someone years ago and the way this guy sneered down the barrel of my camera as he walked by was so toxic, it imprinted on my brain. He wasn’t someone I recognized, though, apparently everyone recognized me. Anyway, it’s funny now because he was clearly judging me and didn’t realize (or maybe just didn’t care) that he was showing me a very ugly side of himself. When I shared how people were treating me to my dear friend interviewing actors and directors that day, she replied, “If only you knew what they did to be here!” She is very cool.
Also, this is an A.I.-generated photo, so if you look like this person, je suis désolé!
